If you repeat an affirmation, with which you’re not in agreement with, there could be some subconscious resistance, which may defeat the affirmation.
When there’s low self-esteem, or when in difficult situations, the mind thinks on the present situation, and finds it difficult, or almost impossible, to consider a special , positive situation. This creates inner resistance, lack of belief, and expecting the affirmation to not work.
In this situation, your attention goes to your current, negative situation, rather than that specialize in what you actually want.
When there’s inner resistance and lack of belief, repeating the affirmations might cause you to more conscious of your problems and of the gap between your current situation, and the words you are repeating. Since the mind is concentrated on the matter , and not on the positive affirmation, this aggravates things .
If you focus your attention on a problem, instead of focusing on a solution, you make the problem bigger. When you do so, you improve your problems and make a negative state of mind. Instead of focusing on the positive, you focus on the negative.
This does not mean that affirmations do not work. On the contrary, this proves that they do work, when you use them correctly, and the right attitude.
Why Affirmations Work
Affirmations work and make results, albeit the result’s negative. This happens when you focus on what you do not want, and got it. This happens quite often.
You will get results, positive or negative, in accordance with the words you repeat and therefore the thoughts you think that .
The words you repeat affect your conscious and subconscious minds, your behavior, your attitude, and the way people teat you and relate to you.
For people that are during a very negative mental situation, affirmations won’t be the proper thing. They might need other means to assist themselves to divert their mind from negative thoughts. They also need to gain self-esteem and strengthen their desire to help themselves. Afterwards, they might try repeating affirmations.
However, if you’re like most of the people , sometimes negative and sometimes positive in your attitude and behavior, affirmation could assist you become more positive, energetic, happy and successful.
To get results, you would like to understand what you would like , specialise in the words you’re repeating, and feel and believe they’re true.
As you continue using affirmations, you’d gradually become a more positive person, and learn to divert your attention faraway from your problems and current situation, and specialise in the positive situation you would like to make in your life.
To use affirmations effectively, you must have no doubts about your ability to achieve what you are affirming.
If it were possible to see what is going inside the minds of successful people, we would see that they consciously or unconsciously repeatedly tell themselves that they are going to succeed. They often repeat positive affirmations, without knowing anything about affirmations.
