Sergio Aguero: agrees to join Barcelona from Manchester city till 2023

Sergio Aguero, record goalscorer with 260 goals. He once joined Atletico Madrid in 2011; injuries and illness restricted his appearances in final season at man city.

Argentina forward Sergio Aguero joining Barca from Manchester city on a deal until the end of the 2022/23 season. He was unveiled at the Nou Camp after signing his contract on Monday.

The sergio was presented in a Barca kit and greeted the media on Monday evening after completing a medical in the afternoon before signing a two-year aggrement.

Sergio will move to Barcelona on a free transfer but the Catalan club have said Aguero’s buyout clause is set at €100m (₹8,91,52,00,000). He will officially join Barcelona on 1july when his Manchester city contract will expire.

His departure from the city was announced at the end of March after Pep Guardiola (Manchester City coach) conveyed City’s record goalscorer of the club’s decision not to renew his deal.

After arriving at Nou Camp, he said: “We all know that Barcelona are the best club in the world so I think I made a great decision to be here and I hope to help the team.”

He continued, “Of course it is a step forward in my career and hopefully I can help the team win things. I want to play and help this squad, and if the team does it well, I will be happy individually”

“Now I have changed my way of playing, but I have an idea of where I can play and I will try to help my team-mates with my experience.”

He admitted in his press conference that he hopes to line up alongside his good friend Lionel Messi next season. As Messi’s future remains uncertain, with the Messi out of contract next month and yet to extend. But Aguero a positive that Lionel messi will stock around.

“Of course I hope to play with Messi. What happens with Leo is a decision that he and the club will make. It is a pride to play with him. I’ve played with him in the national team. If he stays here, which I think he will, we will try to give our best for the club.

“I’ve spoken with Messi, I speak with him every day. But I can’t tell you what we talk about. The last message was that he congratulated me, but we continued to talk about other things, which I can’t share.”

He was the city’s most influential player in their history. He leaves the club after winning five Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and six League Cups.
