The environmental issues in India are huge. Our share of the earth is affected by various environmental hazards, most of which are caused by man. they are
Water pollution: All major rivers of India are inflicted with water pollution. They are polluted by sewage, chemicals, agricultural and industrial waste. Moreover, with exploitation and extraction of groundwater has caused country’s water has caused the country’s water table to drop drastically.
Air pollution: Vehicles releasing chemicals and industries releasing chemical fumes in the air are the major causes of air pollution.
Deforestation: The endless chopping, clearing, and reduction of trees wilfully or naturally are called deforestation. These may cause a decrease in oxygen levels.
Plastics and other waste: This plastic is made up of non-biodegradable material which cannot be broken down into simpler substances. They can stay on earth for more than a thousand years, thus contaminating soil and water bodies. The plastic bags also enter the food chain and get eaten by animals, thus harming them.
The environment is not just the green plants, animals, and ecosystem. It is the entire entity on which we all live and on which the entire agricultural and industrial development depends. So we must protect and improve the natural environment, including forests, lakes, rivers, etc, to have compassion for living creatures.
