International Yoga Day

“Yoga is a golden key that unblocks the door to peace, tranquility and joy”. Yoga is an ancient Indian art for healthy living. The word “yoga” means ‘to join’ or ‘to unite’. Yoga brings harmony between mind and body. There is no use of hard equipment, but only the movements of the body for extension.

The practice of yoga is believed to have started with the dawn of civilization. The science of yoga has its origin thousands of years ago, long before the first religions were born. It was in India that the yogic system found its fullest expression.

The practice of yoga is believed to have immense benefits in the mind and body of a person. Some of the most important benefits of yoga are:

The United Nations General assembly established June 21 as International day of Yoga where people are made aware of the benefits of yoga. People all over the world has now started to practice yoga and reap its benefits. Various yoga competitions are being conducted for children worldwide on 21st June. The International yoga day has become a significant day all over the world.
